Kesikkopru Inn |
The inn is in 18 km
south of Kirsehir near Kesikkopru which is one of the most famous
bridges in Anatolian Seljuk Empire. The inn is in the shape of the
main gate of yard is placed on southern side. The closed part is on
eastern side. The main gate in the middle of small yard extends out
with its large body.
The passageway leading
into the yard is long and surmounted with vault. The interior part
includes a pair of angular arch. A door on the western side of the
passageway leads into the mesjid of inn. There is a room of innkeeper
on the east of main gate. The door of this room leads into the yard.
On the northern wall of the mosque, we meet stone stairs leading into
the roof. There is an inscription on the main gate leading into
closed part of inn. There are some information available on the
inscription on the main gate leading into closed part of inn. There
are some information available on the inscription about the inn which
was built by Cacabey in 667. There are ten stone footings built in
five rows in the closed part of the inn. The inn with three naves is
surmounted with vault. The upper parts of the angular vaults are made
of rubbles. The other parts of the inn are completely built with cut
stone.
